As a College Recruit

Among the more technical corners in the 2022 cycle. A legit 6-foot corner prospect with high-end turn and run acceleration. Recorded sub 4.5-second 40-yard dash times at college camps prior to his junior season. Stays attached in the intermediate game. Quick feet, change of direction and reactions to sudden movement. Playing speed to win foot races vertically. Terrific timing playing the ball in the air. Becomes a threat to score in returning interceptions. Eyes are a strength, as is understanding of the game and the position. Physical in coverage, and a willing striker in the run game. Plays with terrific balance. Confident in press coverage. His scheme versatility has drawn comparisons to NFL cornerbacks. Back on the field as senior after an ACL injury late into his junior season.

Denver Harris‘ smooth movement skills and technical ability at corner are among the traits that make him a five-star prospect. The 6-foot, 180-pounder is a fluid mover and has faced top competition while playing for one of the best high school programs in the state of Texas. We could see Harris becoming a versatile cornerback with a skill set similar to Awuzie – a 6-foot, 200-pounder with good change of direction and the ability to cover outside or in the slot.

Denver Harris evaluation at Under Armour All-America Game

Charles Power

Denver Harris was a late arrival at Under Armour, coming in mid-week. The Texas A&M is a smooth mover in coverage and plays with good technique. Jordan Hudson got the better of him in 1-on-1’s, but that was probably more about Hudson than mistakes from Harris. The Houston native caught our eye in the game with some physicality as a tackler.

Denver Harris rated as a five-star in initial On300

Charles Power

The 2022 cornerback cycle appears to be loaded and Harris has perhaps the best junior video of the group. He’s super smooth and technical in coverage with the ability to seamlessly transition within his backpedal. Harris has locked down his side of the field playing big-time Texas high school football at Houston (Texas) North Shore. He often looked like the best player on the field despite other teams often avoiding any throws in his direction. The 6-foot, 180-pounder also ran in the 4.4’s at college camps prior to his junior season.
