Scouting Journals for Deuce Knight

Deuce Knight Scouting Summary

Charles Power

7/18/24

Big left-handed signal caller who is the top combine athlete at the position in the 2025 cycle. Measured in at 6-foot-4.5, 208 pounds with a 9.75-inch hand at the On3 Elite Series prior to his senior season. Registers as a truly elite athlete at quarterback and one of the best athletes in the 2025 cycle, regardless of position. Consistently runs in the 4.5 second range at camps and has posted multiple 40+ inch vertical leaps. Shows flashes of that athleticism on Friday nights. Capable of tucking the ball and taking it to the house from anywhere on the field. Easily eliminates the angles of pursuit defenders as a scrambler and on designed runs. Tough to bring down in the backfield with his size and reactive quickness. Touts a strong downfield arm. Flashes the ability to stick throws into tight windows over the middle of the field. Showed marked progress as a passer during the off-season prior to his senior year, after a few months of working with a private coach. Still developing, but has tons of upside to continue improving with continued coaching and in-game reps. Had a disjointed junior season, transferring to Lipscomb Academy in Nashville, Tenn. before heading back to Greene County just a few games into the season. Showed some improvement as a passer as a senior. Will need to continue establishing his improvements in accuracy while also progressing in his decision-making and unlocking his immense potential as an athletic playmaker. A three-sport standout with multiple state titles in the long jump and high jump in addition to playing basketball. Has one of the highest upsides regardless of position in the 2025 cycle, but is still considered a developmental prospect. Has the potential to see the field early in his college career in a specifically tailored offense. With continued development, has the potential to be a program elevating quarterback with significant NFL upside.

Deuce Knight named On3 MVP at Elite 11 Finals

6/20/24

Deuce Knight gets the nod in a very tight four man race for the On3 MVP after turning in a consistent three days of performances with the most legitimate ‘wow’ moments of any Elite 11 finalist. He showcased his physical upside and high-end arm talent on Day 1 and was the On3 MVP on Day 2 with the best pro day of the group. There were several eye-raising moments from his workout on Day 2 that were among the top highlights from the week. Knight backed that up with a good showing during Thursday’s 7-on-7 portion. His arm talent was among the best on hand and he was able to operate well within the structure of this camp setting. We were also impressed with Knight’s movement skills over the course of the week. The speed and depth of his drops were among the best on hand. As we noted after Day 2, this is the best we’ve seen the Notre Dame pledge look to this point. At 6-foot-4.5, 210 pounds with elite athleticism, his physical upside is as high as any quarterback in the cycle. Based on his improvement over the past several months and his performance at the Elite 11 Finals, Knight is ascending as a player as he enters his senior season at Lucedale (Miss.) George County.

Deuce Knight named On3 MVP at OT7 Championship

Charles Power

6/09/24

Deuce Knight was the clear top quarterback on hand at the OT7 Championship and carried his team on a surprise run all the way to the tournament’s title game. The 6-foot-4.5, 208-pounder made an array of impressive throws over the final two days of action and seemed to get better each day. Knight’s arm strength stood out. He pushed the ball vertically and threw with velocity to the boundary and into tight windows over the middle of the field. While he had two interceptions in the title game, his location and decision-making was among the best on hand over the course of the event. By the end of Sunday, he was consistently getting to his third or fourth read and delivered with general accuracy. We also got a few glimpses of his athleticism as he turned on the jets for some long gains when blitzed. While the event was not loaded with other top arms, Knight’s showing has to be taken as a positive has he heads into the Elite 11 Finals and his senior season at Lucedale (Miss.) Greene County.

LSU Elite Camp 1

Cody Bellaire

6/08/23

Knight has all the physical and athletic traits to develop into a top-tier quarterback prospect in the 2025 cycle and he flaunted them at today's camp. He stands in at nearly 6-foot-5, 200 pounds and still has plenty of room to fill out. The football jumps out of his hand and he was the most comfortable deep ball thrower at the camp. His motion is a little elongated but the upside is through the roof and he proved that today.

Deuce Knight moves up in updated 2025 On300

Charles Power

5/15/23

Deuce Knight has made a strong claim as the most athletic quarterback in the 2025 cycle and moves up around 35 spots to No. 28 overall in the updated On300. Knight checked in at 6-foot-4.5, 180-pounds at Elite 11’s Oxford regional and posted some eye-popping combine numbers. The Lucedale (Miss.) George County product ripped off a 4.53 second 40-yard dash, 4.39 second short shuttle and absolutely phenomenal 41.9-inch vertical. Those results are marked improvements over his prior testing numbers. The tall lefty has also made strides as a passer, displaying a strong arm and improved consistency. His upside looks to be as high as any quarterback in the cycle.

3/19/22

Deuce Knight, a 6-foot-3, 175-pounder out of Lucedale (Miss.) George Country has a big frame and enormous playmaking ability. The southpaw was accurate in spite of rough mechanics and already holds a Big Ten offer. He’s going to attract many more.
