As a Recruit
Personal Life
Elliot Cadeau is originally from West Orange, New Jersey, but he transferred to Link Year Prep Academy before the 2022-2023 high school season. Cadeau became the first American high school athlete to sign an international NIL deal that will earn him five figures. He is represented in the NIL space by Roc Nation Sports, a sports management company founded by Jay-Z. Cadeau has big aspirations for college and beyond. “I want to be a one-and-done player,” Cadeau told On3’s Joe Tipton. “I want to win a national championship in college and then be an NBA lottery pick. I’m a player with no ego and a player that will do anything to win games.” He’s got the talent to do that, according to his peers. “He’s a great point guard,” highly recruited 2024 center James Brown told On3. “He’s the best point guard in the country, in my opinion. Elliot is really shifty and really quick to get downhill and create for his teammates. He knocks down open shots. He’s just a great player, and he’s hell on defense.” Cadeau, who turned 18 in September 2022, has long been mentioned as a heavy reclass candidate. This means Cadeau has the option to forgo his senior year of high school and make the transition into the 2023 class, after completing the necessary credits. He will not make the final decision about reclassification until after he finishes his AAU season in the summer of 2023.
