Eugene Wilson III Scouting Summary

Charles Power

3/24/22

Silky smooth mover at receiver with elite change of direction skills. Looks like of the quicker and more fluid receivers in the cycle. Measured around 5-foot-11, 165 pounds prior to his senior season. Had an illuminating performance at the Under Armour Next Miami Camp in the spring prior to his senior season. Has the skills to consistently separate against top corners. Possesses elite change of direction and short area quickness, which shows up in his route-running, which is among the best in the cycle. Also has verified top-end speed with an electronically-timed sub-4.5 40-yard dash. Also flashed high end ball skills with the ability to track and high-point both as a receiver and cornerback on Friday nights. Could also play defense. Turned in a strong senior season, averaging 109 receiving yards and 1.6 touchdowns per game, while also picking off five passes. A bit of a late-bloomer physically, having grown an inch in his junior year. Father Eugene Wilson starred at Illinois and won two Super Bowls as a safety for the New England Patriots.

Florida signee Eugene Wilson III (No. 32) stays in the top 32 and earns his fifth star in the final update. The NFL legacy is a silky smooth pass catcher with some of the best coordination we’ve seen in 2023. Wilson is highly skilled as a route-runner and after the catch. He’s been clocked in the 4.4’s on the lasers and has proved largely uncoverable in camps and on Friday nights.

Eugene Wilson III scintillates in preseason game

8/19/22

Eugene Wilson III more than looked the part of his top 100 ranking from On3 on Friday, putting on a show in preseason action. The Gators pledge had several high-level plays, scoring two touchdowns and picking off a pass in just one quarter of action. Wilson made multiple defenders miss in space on the first score. He created easy separation on the second touchdown and was effectively wide open. The NFL legacy’s ball skills were on display on the interception, as he located and leapt for an over-the-shoulder grab before a long return where he hurdled a would-be tackler at full speed.
