Garrett Sexton
Penn State
Recruiting Class of 2024
As a College Recruit
Developmental offensive tackle prospect with ideal measurables and athleticism that give him one of the higher upsides at the position in the 2024 cycle. Measured in at over 6-foot-6, and north of 260 pounds prior to his senior season. Owns a very large frame with plus length - hands over 10.5 inches and 34.5-inch arms. Added close to 40 pounds between his junior and senior seasons. Began his high school career at quarterback before transitioning to offensive line just weeks before his junior season. Lined up at left tackle as a junior. Moves better than most of his high-touted peers. Shows high-level reactive quickness and explosion when moving to the second level. Has upper body and overall play strength that outpaces his lighter weight. Physical and plays with a nasty edge. Tosses around defensive linemen. Plays with natural bend and leverage. Gets underneath defenders and uses his core strength to drive them upward. His substantial length paired with heavy hands shows up at the point of attack. Also plays high school basketball, where he doubles as a rim protector, swatting away shot attempts. Will need to continue learning the intricacies of offensive line technique, given his considerable lack of experience at the position. Will also need time to continue adding strength and mass once in a college program. Has considerable potential for upward trajectory as a prospect given his physical traits and capacity as a quick learner at the position.
Reminds Us Of
Like Eric Fisher, Garrett Sexton is a big-framed, athletic, developmental offensive tackle with considerable upside as he continues to add mass and strength.
