Personal Life
Grace Lyons arrived at Oklahoma from Peoria, Arizona, with a long resume of accomplishments on the high school and club level. As a freshman, she started all 63 of Oklahoma’s games and ranked second on the team with 54 assists and 10 HBP to earn All-Big 12 Freshman Team honors. In the COVID-19-shortened 2020 season, she ranked second on the team with 40 assists, 23 RBIs and three HBP and earned first-team all-league academic honors. Then in her junior season, she started every game and led OU’s top-ranked defense with 64 putouts and 65 assists to just five errors (.963 FLD%), also helped turn a team-best 11 double plays. She also batted .392 with 14 home runs. Lyons was recognized as the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year and also was named a second-team NFCA All-American. As a senior in 2022, Lyons was a key part of Oklahoma’s run to the national championship. Lyons finished eighth in the country with a career single-season best 23 home runs. She also ranked sixth in the country in RBIs, finishing with 70 and a 1.13 RBI/game average. Lyons batted .401 on the season with 23 home runs, 7 doubles and 3 triples to go with 70 RBIs. Those numbers helped her earn first-team All-America honors and repeat recognition as the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year. She was also called up to the 2022 USA Softball Women’s National Team. Lyons has been active on the NIL front, executing deals with Resilient SFBL, Devon Energy, Chinook Seedery and others. She is expected to return for her super senior season at OU.
