Ivan Pace Jr. was an On3 Consensus three-star recruit coming out of Cincinnati’s prestigious Colerain program in the 2019 recruiting class. He originally signed with Miami of Ohio, where he became one of the top defenders in college football. He was the MAC defensive player of the year in 2021 and a first-team all-league pick after leading the league and ranking 10th in the nation with 125 tackles. Pace had an NCAA-record-tying six sacks in a win over Akron in 2019. In 2022 at Cincinnati, Pace will get to team with his younger brother Deshawn Pace, who led the Bearcats with four interceptions and finished with 94 tackles and 9.5 TFLs during his sophomore season. Pace earned honorable mention All-AAC honors for 2021. Through four games in 2022, Pace led the team in tackles in every game. Against Indiana, he had 15 tackles, 4.5 tackles for a loss and two sacks.
