As a College Recruit

Big play wide receiver who is one of the top deep threats in the 2023 cycle. Shows the ability to consistently separate and win on vertical routes. Transfers his sub 10.7 second speed in the 100 meters over to the football field. A smooth, fluid mover who shows signs of changing speeds mid-route. Also shows the ability to track and locate the ball over his shoulder. Makes some grabs with his arms extended. Productive as a junior with over 1,000 yards, 11 touchdowns while averaging over 18 yards per catch. Needs to continue adding to his route tree as he mainly wins on vertical routes to this point.

Jalen Brown reminds us of Will Fuller due to his similar size, build and skill set at the same stage. Like Fuller, Brown is a thinner receiver with the ability to take the top off defenses with his top end speed. Both have similar movement patterns and ability after the catch as well. Brown has more verified track times than Fuller as a high school prospect.

Jalen Brown flashes big play ability at Overtime OT7

Charles Power

Top 30 receiver Jalen Brown flashed on several instances for the Miami Immortals, including on a deep touchdown on Sunday. The Miami Gulliver Prep speedster is one of the top deep threats in the 2023 cycle, but also showed the ability to make some plays on the ball in confined spaces. At 6-foot-1, 160 pounds, he’ll need to continue adding strength to finish through contact.

Jalen Brown top performer Battle New Orleans

Sam SpiegelmanNational Recruiting Analyst

Watching the nation’s No. 4-ranked receiver on separate occasions in Las Vegas and then New Orleans, there is an obvious parallel between Jalen Brown and Heisman Trophy winner DeVonta Smith. Both receivers possess thin frames at 6-foot-1 and 160 pounds and are dangerously smooth and deceptively quick. Brown was outstanding over the middle and attacking vertically, and was dangerous whenever he was left in space. He effortlessly gains separation and has home-run potential.
