Jaliya Davis
Personal Life
Jaliya Davis says her competitive spirit was honed over hours of training and hard work. “Having a lot of energy and excitement to play and always ready,” Davis told KSHB 41 when asked to describe her playing style. That preparation helped Davis lead Blue Valley North to the 2023 Kansas Class 6A state championship and a third place finish in 2024. “She has great leadership,” Blue Valley North coach Ann Fritz. “A lot of kids look up to her and you know, she keeps working hard.” As a junior, Davis averaged 19.8 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. She shot 63% from the field and notched a season-high 30 points in a 72-56 win over Derby in the state tournament third-place game. She was named the Kansas 5A player of the year and the MaxPreps state player of the year after her junior season.
