James Williams

James Williams was an On3 Consensus five-star recruit coming out of Opa Locka (Fla.) American Heritage in the Class of 2021. He also was the top safety recruit in the country. He picked Miami over a long list of national offers, including Alabama, Ohio State, Georgia and Clemson. He made an immediate impact as a true freshman, earning honorable mention All-ACC honors after racking up 31 tackles and 1 ½ tackles for a loss. In 2022, Williams led the Hurricanes with seven tackles, including six solo stops, against Texas A&M.
