As a Recruit
Personal Life
Jameson Williams didn’t make the right decision as a four-star recruit coming out of Saint Louis (Mo.) Cardinal Ritter College Prep. He chose Ohio State over Alabama. It was a good decision, Williams would later tell On3’s Ivan Maisel, but his decision to transfer to Alabama in May 2021 was an even better one. He spent two seasons at Ohio State and even made six starts. But after spring camp in 2021, he decided to move because of the logjam at the position. Nick Saban called with seconds of him entering the portal, and soon committed to the Tide. “I’m going to say grateful because not everybody gets an opportunity, like I told you, to right a wrong,” his father James Williams said about his son's second-chance opportunity. In high school, Williams won two state champions in track and field and holds the 300-meter hurdles record.
