Personal Life
Jaxon Smith-Njigba was an On3 Consensus five-star recruit coming out of Rockwall (Texas) High School in the 2020 recruiting class. Smith-Njigba picked the Buckeyes over a long list of scholarship offers, including Texas A&M, Oklahoma, Notre Dame and Nebraska. Ohio State coach Ryan Day knew Smith-Njigba would make an impact right away. “Jaxon is one of the best receivers in the country, one of the best slot receivers I’ve ever been around.” Smith-Njigba owns the FBS bowl game and Ohio State single-game record for the most receiving yards in a game with 347 in the 2022 Rose Bowl. He also holds Ohio State records for most catches in a single game with 15 (twice) and most receiving yards in a single season with 1,606 during the 2021 season.
