As a Recruit
Personal Life
JC Latham originally envisioned himself as a defensive lineman during his high school days. In fact, Latham had not even played much offense until a slew of injuries forced him to move to offensive tackle when he was at IMG Academy. "Things work out for a reason, don't they," Latham told ESPN ahead of the 2024 NFL Draft. They certainly did. Latham – who was a Five-Star Plus+ recruit and the No. 2 overall prospect in the country in the Class of 2021 – was a two-year starter for Alabama at right tackle. He even played guard some and believes he can play anywhere on the offensive line, even left tackle. Alabama's coaches graded him with 41 knockdown blocks in 813 snaps in the 2023 season – 3.2 per game. "Being physical, being aggressive, the willingness to attack at any given moment, that's just the mentality that I had,'' Latham said. "If I'm at left, I'm still going to be aggressive.'' Former Bama coach Nick Saban raved about Latham when he was with the Crimson Tide. "He’s big, strong, physical," "He’s the prototype tackle that everybody would look for in terms of having a power guy who is effective in being able to pass block well enough.”
