As a College Recruit
Large-framed, athletic linebacker prospect who turned in a monster senior season. Size, athleticism and senior production point to a considerable developmental upside. Measured around 6-foot-4, 215 pounds with a 33-inch arm in the offseason prior to his senior year. One of the taller and longer linebacker prospects in the 2023 cycle. Registers as a strong athlete in track and field, running 6.66 seconds in the 55 meters and posting a 21'3" long jump as a junior. A dominant, total playmaker on Friday nights. Turned in one of the most productive senior seasons we've seen from any prospect over the past several cycles. Played wide receiver and safety while leading Phoebus High to an undefeated season and state title. The stats are so gaudy it's hard to believe. Caught 58 passes for 1,535 yards and 30 touchdowns, rushed for 318 yards and five more touchdowns. Scored on two kick returns. Tallied 88 tackles and picked off 10 passes (four pick-sixes) on defense. Has excellent coverage range, particularly at his size. Can play hash to boundary at safety as a 6-foot-4, 215-pounder. Has high-end ball skills and consistently wins in contested situations. Would be a four-star talent as a wide receiver prospect, in our opinion. More than comfortable dropping in zone coverage and playing man against running backs and tight ends. Disruptive as a blitzer and pass rusher off the edge. Shows excellent field vision and ability to trigger and diagnose where the ball is heading quickly. Physical and embraces contact. Has some pop as a striker. Will need to make the transition to a traditional linebacker and learn how to stack and shed as a run defender in addition to improving his tackling technique. Younger for the cycle with a May birthday. A high ceiling prospect with the upside to be the best linebacker prospect in the cycle pending his continued development and full-time transition to the position.
