As a College Recruit
Explosive, productive junior college linebacker with scheme versatility. Top tackler for Pearl River C.C. as a freshman in 2021, totaling 53 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 3 sacks and 1 interception in 9 games. Often played on the edge as a freshman, but projects as an off-ball linebacker at the next level. Shows high-level burst and closing speed when playing in space. Processes and reacts quickly. Looks to have outstanding top-end play speed. Physical in taking on blocks with the ability to stack and shed. Plays with an edge as a finisher. Has experience as a pass rusher that adds to his overall skill set. Played well against top competition in one of the better junior college conferences. Was a first-team all-state linebacker as a high school senior, while playing in Tennessee’s highest classification. Can continue to finetune his tackling technique.
Reminds Us Of
Justin Jefferson's speed and range as a smaller off-ball linebacker reminds us of Shaq Thompson. Jefferson's background differs a bit from Thompson - Jefferson was a full-time linebacker as a high school prospect, while Thompson was a two-way player as a prolific running back and safety, prior to growing in to a linebacker. Jefferson also reminds us a bit of Roquan Smith.
