As a College Recruit

One of the most mobile, athletic offensive line prospects in several cycles. Flashes high-end traits as a run blocker. An easy, athletic mover at the second level, where he excels as a puller. Shows special movement skills and finishing ability as a puller. Has potentially elite play strength coupled with the high-end athletic ability. Shows improved technical proficiency with his hand placement and understanding of run schemes. Has the length and feet to play tackle but will need to continue honing his pass set technique at the next level after playing in a run-heavy offense in high school. Validates his athleticism and explosive power as a top thrower in both the shot put and discus. One of the best shot put and discus throwers on the Eastern seaboard. Won multiple state titles as a high school thrower, highlighted by an elite shot put toss over 66 feet as a junior. Much younger than most of his peers in the 2023 cycle and will not turn 18 until late August of his freshman year of college.

Like Ikem Ekwonu, Jven Williams is a high upside offensive lineman with length and strong athletic markers who excel as run blockers. Both have the length and athleticism to play either offensive tackle or guard. The size as recruits is nearly identical at around 6-foot-4, 290 pounds. Both have dominant qualities as run blockers, particularly at the second level. Ekwonu was a touted wrestler and track athlete, while Williams is a multi-time state champion in the shot put and discus as one of the top throwers on the East Coast.

Jven Williams finishes as a top ten prospect in the On300

Charles Power

Jven Williams (No. 9) finishes in the top ten of the On300 rankings. The 6-foot-4, 290-pounder one of the more mobile offensive linemen we’ve evaluated in recent memory. Williams is a weapon in the run game and has shown signs of being special in working at the second level.

Jven Williams rated as a 5-star prospect in overhauled On300

Charles Power

The Reading (Pa.) Wyomissing standout is an easy, athletic mover as a run blocker. He excels at the second level and is a hellacious puller in the run game due to the combination of athleticism and heavy hands. Williams also has the length and natural reactive quickness to develop into a standout in pass protection. He plays in a run-heavy offense and will need to continue honing his pass set technique. With that said, it’s not out of the cards he could blossom into an ideal zone scheme offensive tackle. Williams is easily identifiable as an ascending prospect. He doubles as a defensive tackle for Wyomissing and is a top thrower in track with an outstanding 57 foot shot put toss. Williams was also a state champion in the discus as a sophomore. If that wasn’t enough, he’s also very young for the class and won’t turn 18 years old until late August of his freshman year. Williams is younger than many top 2024 prospects.
