Lonnie Phelps

Lonnie Phelps prepped at Cincinnati Mount Healthy High School and was an On3 Consensus three-star recruit. He signed with Miami of Ohio out of high school and played in 13 games and recorded 4.5 sacks in the 20219 season. Phelps then was a third-team All-MAC pick in 2020. His 2021 season was even better, as he was a second-team All-MAC pick with 13.5 tackles for a loss and 9.5 sacks. He transferred to Kansas for the 2022 season. Phelps made an immediate impact for KU, including a game-high seven tackles and three sacks in the season opener. His parents are Nichole and Lonnie Phelps.
