Luke Kromenhoek Scouting Summary

Charles Power

5/21/23

Toolsy, strong-armed passer with some of the best physical attributes among quarterbacks in the 2024 cycle. One of the taller quarterbacks in the group with a prototypical build at 6-foot-3.5, 190 pounds with a 9.5-inch hand. Shows a very live arm on Friday nights and in the camp setting. Backed that up in the camp setting, where he showed one of the strongest arms at the Elite 11 Finals. Flashes a quick, natural release, generating considerable velocity with ease. Rips throws down the middle of the field on a line. Had several passes travel over 50 yards in the air as a junior. Can stretch secondaries with his arm strength. Delivers some nice passes on the on rollouts to his right and left. A good athlete at the position. Shows very encouraging reactive quickness and burst as a mover in evading the pass rush. Has upside as a runner with his quickness and speed and can pick up chunks of yards once at the second level. Unlike most other top 2024 quarterbacks, was a first-year starter as a junior, leading his team to a state title. Completed 65 percent of his passes for 2,576 yards and 24 touchdowns against 3 interceptions, while rushing for 453 yards and 7 scores. Played wide receiver and safety while backing up Auburn signee Holden Geriner as a sophomore. Can stand to improve his overall consistency and will likely see the game continue to slow down for him with more in-game reps. Older for the class, turning 19 years-old in January of his senior year. Has one of the higher upsides in the murky 2024 quarterback class.

Florida State signee Luke Kromenhoek (No. 26) is the best quarterback prospect to sign with the Seminoles since Jameis Winston back in 2012. The Savannah (Ga.) Benedictine Military product has one of the highest upsides among 2024 quarterbacks. At 6-foot-3.5, 190 pounds, Kromenhoek sports one of the strongest arms and quickest throwing motions in the group. He’s also a plus athlete at the position. As a two-year varsity starter, he’s less seasoned than many of the other top 2024 passers. There’s room for improvement with his overall consistency and decision-making. While he may need a year or two to sit, there’s no denying the upside and long-term potential with continued development.

Luke Kromenhoek flashes high-end upside at the Elite 11 FInals

6/16/23

Luke Kromenhoek finished as On3's No. 4 Top Performer at the Elite 11 Finals. No quarterback on hand flashed more physical upside than Kromenhoek, in our opinion. That may seem like a bold statement, but at 6-foot-3.5, 190 pounds, Kromenhoek easily had one of the strongest arms in attendance in addition to plus movement skills. The Savannah (Ga.) Benedictine signal caller has the horsepower in his arm to throw ropes on a straight line 30 to 40 yards downfield. He first flashed the big arm during drill work on Day 1. Kromenhoek struggled a bit during his pro day session on Day 2, but rebounded on Day 3 with one of the strongest 7-on-7 showings from the group. He caught fire after getting off to an up-and-down start, and finished 13 of 17 for three touchdowns. Kromenhoek hasn’t played as much varsity football as most of the group as 2022 was his first year as a starter. He’ll need to continue adding experience and overall consistency, but the tangible upside was apparent in Redondo Beach.

Luke Kromenhoek a riser in updated On300 rankings

2/27/23

Luke Kromenhoek (No. 59) was one of the biggest risers among quarterbacks in the updated On300, jumping from three-star status into the top 100. Kromenhoek made the most of his first year as a starter at Savannah (Ga.) Benedictine. The Florida State commit flashed a quick release, strong arm and translatable physical tools during the fall.
