Personal Life
Mohamed Ibrahim was a consensus three-star recruit coming out of Olney (Md.) Good Counsel. He rushed for over 1,000 years a junior and senior. He redshirted the 2017 season for the Golden Gophers. He broke out as a sophomore, starting nine games and rushing for the second-most yards by a freshman in school history. He had a down 2019 season but bounced back for a remarkable 2020 season. He won Big Ten Running Back of the Year and was an Associated Press third team All-American. Ibrahim — who is named after the founder of Islam, the Prophet Muhammad — is a devout Muslim and keeps a prayer mat at Minnesota’s performance center. He is the son of Latoya and Mohamed Ibrahim. He has two sisters: Khadijah and Fatima. Ibrahim is majoring in business and marketing education.
