Mykael Wright
Oregon
As a Recruit
Personal Life
Mykael Wright burst on to the recruiting scene as a sophomore at Placentia (Calif.) Valencia. He was even better as a junior, winning CIF Southern Section Division 2 co-offensive player of the year and the Foothill League player of the year. He transferred to Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne and then to Lancaster (Calif) Antelope Valley the summer before his senior year. He did not play a senior season due to transfer rules. He was a retroactive On3 Consensus four-star cornerback and top-100 recruit. Even with the time off from playing competitive games, Wright had a fantastic freshman season at Oregon. He became the third player in program history with two kickoffs returned for scores in a single season and earned all-conference honorable mention from the coaches. In the 2020 COVID-shortened season, he earned a spot on the consensus Pac 12 all-conference first team.
