Myles Murphy arrived at Clemson ahead of the 2020 season as an On3 Five-Star Plus+ recruit from Powder Springs (Georgia) Hillgrove High School. Murphy was also ranked as the eighth-best recruit in the country, according to the On3 Industry Ranking. During his time at Clemson, Murphy was credited with 139 tackles (37.0 for loss), 17.5 sacks, six forced fumbles and six pass breakups in 1,543 snaps over 38 games, which included 27 starts. Murphy joined Gaines Adams, Vic Beasley and Clelin Ferrell as the only Clemson players since 2000 to post multiple seasons with multiple forced fumbles and at least four sacks. Away from football, Murphy majored in construction science and management. He plans on becoming an architect when his football career is over. His father, Willard Murphy, played at Chattanooga and his older brother, Maxwell, played at NAIA Worcester Polytechnic in Massachusetts.
