Scouting Journals for Nick Singleton

Nick Singleton Scouting Summary

Charles Power

10/19/21

The most explosive running back in the 2022 cycle. Pairs a rocked up build with top athleticism and a violent running style. Has strong verified athleticism both on the track and in the combine setting. Hits the marks with top end speed, with several sub-11 second 100 meter times to his name. Transfers the athleticism over to the field where he has a high-level burst and long speed to pull away from defenses with ease. Is a loose and flexible runner despite his considerable twitch and strength. Runs with excellent body lean with pads over his feet, which aids in picking up yards after contact. More of a downhill runner but does show lateral agility and the ability to cut back. Does not play strong competition but utterly dominates like a top running back should. Extremely productive and efficient. Rushing for over 15 yards per carry and scoring on one out of every three touches well into his senior season.

Nick Singleton a top performer at All-American Bowl

It can be difficult for running backs to impress in non-contact all-star practices. That was not the case with Nick Singleton at the All-American Bowl. The 6-foot, 210-pounder is the No. 1 running back in the cycle in the On300 and On3 Consensus. He certainly played up to that ranking. Singleton has an elite burst that is on another level from any running back we’ve seen over the past two weeks. The five-star quickly gets to the second level and showed the top end speed to pull away from the secondary for long scores. We were also impressed with his pass-catching ability out of the backfield. Singleton has soft hands with the ability to adjust to inaccurate throws. He didn’t get many touches during the game, but Singleton looked like the nation’s top running back prospect in practices.

Nick Singleton impresses in first game

8/27/21

If the first game is any indication, Penn State commit Nicholas Singleton looks primed to push for the top running back spot in the 2022 cycle. The 6-foot, 205-pounder ran for 281 yards and five touchdowns on 18 carries. Singleton showcased both high-end burst and long speed along with a degree of physicality. He ripped off a number of long runs and de-cleated some defenders on impact.
