Adepoju Adebawore Scouting Summary

Charles Power

4/17/22

Twitchy, athletic pass rusher with a very high ceiling. One of the more athletic and physically-gifted prospects in the 2023 cycle, regardless of position. Checked in at 6-foot-4, 227 pounds prior to his senior season. Has elite length for the position with a 7-foot wing-span. Tests as a top athlete in the combine setting, sporting some of the best athletic testing numbers among top EDGE prospects. His workout at Under Armour's Kansas City camp was arguably the best camp showing we saw from any 2023 prospect during the spring. Transfers that athleticism over to the field, where he makes high-level plays behind the line of scrimmage with regularity. Uses his burst to beat opposing offensive tackles off the ball, while also showing the ability to dip and bend around the edge. Consistently runs down quarterbacks and rushers behind the line of scrimmage. A high-level finisher due in part to his elite length and twitch. Operates with a high effort level both in games and the camp setting. Very productive as a junior with 17.5 sacks. Will need to continue developing his hand usage in getting off of blocks along with pass rush moves. Younger for the class and still relatively new to football. Was one of the top overall performers at the Under Armour All-America Game after his senior season. Showed a good level of strength and power when facing top offensive linemen, in addition to his extreme athleticism. Dominant at times as a pass rusher against top competition. Has the look of a player who is just scratching the surface of his potential.

Adepoju Adebawore showed why he’s considered to be the most physically gifted EDGE prospect in the 2023 cycle by On3. The Kansas City native was utterly dominant off the edge in the first half of Tuesday’s game. Adebawore has an elite combination of extreme length, first-step quickness and closing speed. He teed off on the Team Phantom right tackles, making a number of plays behind the line. We saw the same skill set on display throughout the week. Adebawore consistently gave his Team Speed offensive line teammates issues in 1-on-1’s. He’s already a great player who can win with speed or power – a scary thought considering he’s just scratching the surface up his immense potential.

Adepoju Adebawore made a strong case as the twitchiest athlete at Future 50 along with Zachariah Branch. The 6-foot-4, 225-pounder has a rare combination of athleticism and length, manifesting in a big-time mismatch off the edge. Adebawore impressed from the jump, flying through drills and giving offensive linemen issues in 1-on-1’s. He also showed some highly encouraging curvilinear movement and ability to bend the edge for such an explosive athlete. At the end of the morning session, we clocked Adebawore in the 6.90 second range in the 3-cone drill. That’s an elite mark for a NFL EDGE prospect, let alone a rising senior in high school. The new Oklahoma pledge validated the belief that he’s one of the more physically-gifted EDGE prospects in the 2023 cycle.

Oklahoma EDGE Adepoju Adebawore commit (No. 7) adds his 5th star and vaults into the top 10 of the On300. The North Kansas City pass rusher is one of the twitchiest defenders in the cycle at over 6-foot-4, 225 pounds with a wing-span over 7-feet. Adebawore has turned in multiple strong showings on the camp circuit, most recently at Under Armour Future 50 to supplement his strong junior video. His movement skills and frame make for a unique, high upside EDGE prospect.
