Ryan Niblett
Texas
Recruiting Class of 2023
As a College Recruit
Electric multi-purpose playmaker who can score any time he touches the ball. Makes big plays as a receiver, ball carrier and return man. A top-tier track athlete who ran bests of 10.41 seconds in the 100 meters and 21.25 seconds in the 200 meters as a junior. Also jumped 45’08” in the triple jump and 23’01” in the long jump. On the smaller side, measuring at around 5-foot-10.5, 175 pounds with an arm length around 31 inches as a senior. Transfers his athleticism over to the field. Shows the ability to stretch the field as a deep threat. Dynamic with the ball in his hands. Sees frequent targets in the quick game to go with carries on speed sweeps. Possesses loose hips and does an excellent job making defenders miss in a phone booth. Shows strong contact balance and ability to maximize yardage after the catch. Lacks refinement as a wide receiver and will have to develop his route-running at the next level. Not a top tier catcher of the football but does have good coordination and room to continue improving on that front. Dangerous return man on kickoffs and punts. Turned in a good senior season for a 5-5 team, catching 55 passes for 1,088 yards and scoring 10 touchdowns. Projects as a multi-purpose slot receiver who can potentially play out wide as a deep threat Z.
Reminds Us Of
Like Mecole Hardman, Ryan Niblett is a talented athlete with high-end straight-line speed. Both are at their best with the ball in their hands primarily via quick passes or handoffs. Both also have value on special teams as return men.
