Shemar James Scouting Summary
10/29/21Do-it-all two-way player at the high school level who projects as a linebacker long-term. Plays linebacker and receiver for his high school. A loose, fluid mover. Employs sudden change of direction skills at linebacker with the ability to dart into the backfield as a blitzer or win off the edge as a pass rusher. Finishes with authority and violence behind the line of scrimmage. Has high-end ball skills due to his background as a receiver. More than capable of winning battles for the ball in-air and through contact. Shows some instincts in coverage and has the athleticism to drop into space. Has the look of a highly-coordinated athlete, which shows up by way of his playmaking ability on offense. Not overly large from a frame and dimensions perspective but added mass between his junior and senior seasons. Young for the cycle and won’t turn 18 until he’s enrolled in college.
