Shemar James
Florida
Recruiting Class of 2022
As a College Recruit
Do-it-all two-way player at the high school level who projects as a linebacker long-term. Plays linebacker and receiver for his high school. A loose, fluid mover. Employs sudden change of direction skills at linebacker with the ability to dart into the backfield as a blitzer or win off the edge as a pass rusher. Finishes with authority and violence behind the line of scrimmage. Has high-end ball skills due to his background as a receiver. More than capable of winning battles for the ball in-air and through contact. Shows some instincts in coverage and has the athleticism to drop into space. Has the look of a highly-coordinated athlete, which shows up by way of his playmaking ability on offense. Not overly large from a frame and dimensions perspective but added mass between his junior and senior seasons. Young for the cycle and won’t turn 18 until he’s enrolled in college.
Reminds Us Of
We see some of C.J. Mosley in fellow south Alabama native Shemar James's size, athleticism and ability to make plays from sideline to sideline.
