T'Vondre Sweat arrived on the Forty Acres as a four-star recruit and the No. 82 prospect in the Lone Star State coming out of Huntsville (Texas) High School in the 2019 class. During his high school career, Sweat was an all-state and multi-year all-district defensive lineman who was named district MVP in 2018. Sweat played in all 13 games in 2019, logging nine tackles, two pass deflections, one sack, one fumble recovery and one tackle for a loss. He played in every game again in 2020, recorded 22 tackles, four tackles for loss, one sack, one pass breakup, one quarterback hurry, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. During his junior season, he registered 22 tackles (nine solo), two tackles for loss, one sack and three pass breakups. Then in 2022, he was named honorable mention All-Big 12 by the leagues coaches with seven quarterback hurries. Sweat returned in 2023 for his super senior season, and he was named an unanimous All-American. He was the 24th Longhorn in program history to earn unanimous All-American honors based on the five outlets recognized by the NCAA. The 2023 Outland Trophy Award winner as the nation's best interior lineman, Sweat has had a breakout season for Texas, establishing career highs with 42 tackles, 17 solo tackles, eight tackles for loss, two sacks and four pass breakups, while adding a blocked kick on an Iowa State point after attempt that was scooped up by Austin Jordan and returned 82 yards for a two-point score for Texas. The Big 12 Conference Defensive Player of the Year also caught a two-yard touchdown pass in the Longhorns' Big 12 Championship Game victory over Oklahoma State.
