Tackett Curtis Scouting Summary
6/25/22Do-it-all star at safety and quarterback who projects as a linebacker long-term. One of the more violent defenders in the 2023 cycle. Rare ability to run the alley and knock ball carriers into a different dimension. Explosive at the point of contact. Totalled 103 tackles and 12.5 tackles for loss on the defensive side of the ball during his junior season. Lined up under center running the veer offense and carried the ball for 494 yards and 3 touchdowns. Returns punts and kicks as well. Lacks ideal top end speed and ability to get from sideline to sideline. Clocked in a 24.56 200m during his junior track and field season. Ran a 7.52 60m and jumped just under 37 feet in the triple jump during his sophomore season. Diagnoses and triggers downfield tremendously. Makes plays behind the line of scrimmage consistently. Struggles to flip his hips and change direction when working in open space. Projects to a pure box player at the next level if he maintains his hip stiffness. If he can enhance his ability to play in coverage and work in space he has the chance to become a top 150 draft pick. One of the older prospects in the 2023 recruiting cycle.
