As a College Recruit

Wiry wideout with super smooth movement patterns and big-play ability. Has a thin frame, measuring at over 6-foot-2 and around 160 pounds prior to his senior season. Registers as a good athlete, running an 11.03 second 100 meter time in addition to a 4.64 electronically-timed 40-yard dash as a junior. Dominates average to subpar competition on Friday nights. Accounted for 955 yards and 16 touchdowns on just 31 catches as a junior. A threat to score every time he touches the ball at the high school level. A naturally smooth mover and has advanced routes and on-field change of direction at this stage. Shows the ability to separate within his routes in the camp setting. Ball skills are not a question, but can struggle with finishing through contact due to his relative lack of strength. Will need to continue adding mass at the college level.

Taeshaun Lyons is a bouncy, long-striding receiver with the ability to separate as a route-runner and pick up yards after the catch. His skill set and physical tools remind us of Josh Reynolds.

Taeshaun Lyons an On3 Outlier

Charles Power

Taeshaun Lyons was a new addition to the On300 in the summer update. The Bay Area standout had a big junior season at Hayward (Calif.) Tennyson, accounting for 955 yards and 16 scores on just 31 catches. Lyons is a lean 6-foot-2.5, 165 pounds and will need to continue getting stronger. He has displayed good speed on Friday nights and on the track, where he ran a 11.03 second mark in the 100 meters as a junior. We also saw Lyons show some advanced route-running skills and ability to separate in the camp setting this offseason.
