As a College Recruit

Among the most versatile defensive backs in the 2022 cycle. Sports otherworldly arm length with an 80-inch wingspan at just under 6-feet tall. Student of the game. Stays attached in coverage at all levels. Wins with technique and eye discipline. Tremendous length helps him in recovery situations, especially in the intermediate game. Quick feet and effortless change of direction allows him to blanket receivers in the short passing game. One of the only cornerbacks to successfully slow down five-star receiver Evan Stewart in the camp setting. Could play corner, nickel or safety at the next level. Speed evident to easily cover from the hash to boundary at safety.

Terrance Brooks‘ distinguishing traits as a five-star cornerback are his elite length, technical polish and physicality. The Texas signee has extremely long arms, with an 80-inch wing-span at 5-foot-11, 190 pounds. Bradberry is a bit taller than Brooks, but is among the longer cornerbacks in the NFL, with 33 5/8 inch arms at 6-foot-1, 211 pounds. While both have good change of direction, the length helps compensate for not having elite top-end speed.

Terrance Brooks faces off against top program

Charles Power

Terrance Brooks and Little Elm took on top-ranked Denton Guyer. Brooks primarily covered the slot, lining up at Nickel. Guyer often lined up with tight bunch formations, making Brooks a de facto linebacker for much of the game. Brooks looked good overall, making a number of plays as a tackler in space. While Brooks was not tested downfield, we were able to see his length and closing speed on display. He had a few tackles for loss, including a stop of 4-star 2023 quarterback Jackson Arnold and a near sack after screaming off the edge on a blitz.

Brooks is perhaps the only corner to see much success covering fellow five-star Evan Stewart this offseason. The Little Elm (Texas) High product is incredibly long for a 5-foot-11 corner with an 80-inch wingspan. He uses his length to compensate on the few occasions when he’s not in an ideal position. Brooks’ father, Chet, was a former safety at Texas A&M and played three seasons in the NFL. With that pedigree, it’s not surprising that Brooks is technically polished. He’s able to anticipate and change directions by reading receivers’ movements.
