T.J. Sanders was already well known for his play with Gamecock fans, but it was against Georgia in the 2023 season that he became a nationally known name. Sanders had nine tackles, including two for a loss and a sack. He also was credited with a pass breakup. “That man makes plays, man. He does it in practice too,” South Carolina linebacker Debo Williams said at the time. “I just told him to keep coming along and playing like that. I love it.” Gamecocks coach Shane Beamer agreed. “T.J. is tough to handle for any team that we play,” Beamer said. “When he goes, he is hard to block.”
