2024 NCAA Softball Tournament: Super Regionals results, schedule, updated bracket
After an exciting round of Regional play, the Super Regionals have been set for the 2024 NCAA Softball Tournament. The action began on Thursday, and will continue throughout the afternoon and evening on Friday.
Thursday’s action saw Oklahoma defeat Florida State by a score of 11-3, and UCLA blank Georgia by a score of 8-0. Friday’s action began with a showdown between Florida and Baylor. While the Bears started off hot, the Gators came roaring back to take the lead in the bottom of the first inning, and held on for the 4-2 victory.

In Friday’s slate, Tennessee defeated Alabama 3-2 to move within one win of the WCWS. Oklahoma then clinched its eighth straight WCWS berth with a 4-2 victory over Florida State to continue its quest for an unprecedented four-peat.
Saturday’s games saw no shortage of action as multiple teams forced elimination games. The biggest was Texas, which survived a scare from Texas A&M to set up a decisive Game 3 on Sunday. That came after Baylor beat Florida to force the if-necessary matchup and Alabama defeated Tennessee in 14 innings to do the same. Missouri also held on to defeat Duke, meaning another ticket was set to be punched in Columbia on Sunday.
On Sunday, Florida secured its 12th appearance in the WCWS in program history with a 5-3 win over Baylor. In the win, Florida’s Keagan Rothrock pitched a complete game, tallying 131 pitches. She only allowed eight hits while throwing three strikeouts.
Alabama vs. Tennessee was up next, but was delayed three hours due to rain. That meant Duke and Missouri would play for the next WCWS bid, and it was another thriller. The two teams were both scoreless entering the seventh inning, and the game headed to extras. That’s when the Blue Devils scored three times in the ninth inning to secure their first-ever trip to Oklahoma City, defeating Mizzou 4-3 after the Tigers got a three-run home run in the bottom of the inning.
Shortly after that game wrapped up, Alabama looked to finish off Tennessee after the early 4-0 lead before the delay. It got dicey, though, as the Lady Vols loaded the bases after scoring their first run in the bottom of the seventh. But the Crimson Tide held on, sealing the 4-1 victory to head back to OKC.
In Austin, it was another crazy one between Texas and Texas A&M. The Aggies failed to capitalize on a bases-loaded threat in the sixth inning and the Longhorns rallied to extend their lead to 6-2 in the bottom half. However, Texas A&M made it a one-run game in the top of the seventh to make it really interesting before Teagan Kavan got the last two outs to send Texas to the WCWS with a 6-5 victory.
The final game of the day ended quicker than expected. Stanford locked up the final spot in the WCWS with an offensive outburst, including seven runs in the fifth inning en route to the 8-0 victory over LSU – capped by a walk-off home run by Kaitlyn Lim for the eighth and final run.
Moreover, Super Regionals are a best-of-three series with the highest-seeded team acting as the host for the games. The eight winners will advance to the Women’s College World Series to play in a double-elimination style tournament for the chance at the national championship.
Super Regionals are set to begin May 23 and will continue through May 26. You can view the full list of matchups, scores and the full schedule below.
