Oklahoma had a chance to be the first team to advance to the WCWS final before Florida won 9-3 on Monday to force a win-or-go-home matchup. The Gators jumped out to a 4-0 lead following the first three innings and never trailed in the contest.

Leadoff hitter Skylar Wallace finished the day with a pair of home runs and three RBI, while Reagan Walsh finished a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with four RBI. Florida totaled four home runs off nine hits as a team. Reagan Rothrock got the start at pitcher for the second day in a row and recorded four strikeouts with only seven hits allowed in a full game.

The second game between the Sooners and Gators on Tuesday came down to the wire with things tied up at 5 entering the seventh inning. OU did not lead for the entire game up to that point, but managed to force the game to go into extras. After taking care of business defensively in the top of the eight, the Sooners had a chance to walk it off.

Exactly that happened as Jayda Coleman hit a walk-off home run to left field to give Oklahoma the 6-5 victory. The Sooners are now on to their fourth straight WCWS final and looking to win their fourth consecutive national title.

Texas escaped a defensive bout with Stanford on Monday to secure its spot in the final series. The game between the Longhorns remained scoreless until the top of the seventh inning when Alyssa Washington scored on a fielder’s choice.

That turned out to be all they needed as the Texas defense held strong in the bottom of the inning to close things out. Teagan Kavan got the start at pitcher and recorded seven strikeouts with only one hit allowed across a full game.

The Longhorns have yet to lose a game in the Women’s College World Series after previously beating Stanford by a score of 4-0 in the opening game and then taking care of business against Florida in a 10-0 run rule win on Saturday.

Texas softball is still in search of its first national championship in program history. This is the second appearances in the WCWS final after they previously lost to Oklahoma in 2022. Now they’ll have a chance to get their revenge beginning Wednesday.
