Alarming details emerge after Texas man arrested, charged with stalking Caitlin Clark
A 55-year-old man from Texas has been arrested and charged with stalking Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark, according to ESPN. The man was arrested in Indianapolis on Sunday after allegedly sending threats and sexually violent messages to Clark on social media.
According to ESPN, Michael Lewis of Denton, Texas was charged with a Level 5 felony in his hotel room in Indianapolis on Sunday. He is set to appear in court on Tuesday, ESPN reports. He could face up to six years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
Lewis allegedly sent Caitlin Clark several messages, including one that said: “Been driving around your house 3x a day. But don’t call the law just yet,” according to ESPN.
Another message read: “I’m getting tickets. I’m sitting behind the bench.” Other messages were allegedly sexually violent.
Caitlin Clark reportedly told police that she feared for her safety and altered her appearance in public, according to ESPN.
The Indianapolis Star reports that Prosecutors have moved to ban Lewis from Hinkle Fieldhouse and Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Both are venues where the Indiana Fever play.
Marion County Prosecutor Ryan Mears released a statement about Michael Lewis stalking Caitlin Clark, according to ESPN.

“We commend Pacers Sports & Entertainment, and the Marion County Sherriff’s Office for the swift and serious action that led to this weekend’s arrest.”
Caitlin Clark led Iowa to the national title game during the 2023-24 season, before leading the Indiana Fever to the playoffs in 2024. She was named the National Player of the Year in college basketball and won the WNBA Rookie of the Year. Clark also earned All-WNBA First-Team honors as a rookie.
Caitlin Clark averaged 31.6 points, 7.4 rebounds and 8.9 assists per game for the Hawkeyes as a senior. She holds a number of NCAA records, including being the NCAA Division I all-time scoring leader.
She was drafted No. 1 overall in the 2024 WNBA Draft by the Indiana Fever. During her rookie season with the Fever, Clark averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.4 assists per game.
