Florida’s leading scorer, Aliyah Matharu, has entered the transfer portal as a graduate transfer, sources told On3.

Matharu, a 5-foot-7 guard from Washington DC, averaged 19 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.7 steals for the Gators last season. Matharu spent the first two seasons of her college career at Mississippi State and then played for the Texas Longhorns for the 2021-22 campaign.

Florida came in as the 11th-ranked SEC program in On3’s SEC preseason power rankings – and it was in large part due to Matharu. She ranked 2nd in the SEC in scoring last season and reached double figures in scoring for 29 of her 30 games played. She led Florida in both points and steals during her senior season with the Gators.

Matharu is hopeful be eligible to play in December at a new program.
