Angel Reese ejected from Unrivaled 3-on-3 game after controversial technical foul
Angel Reese is one of the stars of a new three-on-three basketball league, Unrivaled. On Saturday, her team, Rose, was going up against Laces but things turned for the worst in the second quarter. Reese was ejected from the game after receiving two technical fouls.
A foul was called against Reese and she did not agree with the call. While the opposing player was on the ground, Reese made a motion toward her as if she was dismissing the call. An official quickly blew his whistle for the technical.
The call did not sit well with Reese as some arguing ensued. This continued as everyone, except Reese, began to line up for free throws to be shot. While the TNT cameras did not catch it, a second technical was called after not cooperating and Reese was thrown out.

Ejecting Reese was an unprecedented move from the officials as nobody had ever received two technicals. It’s the first time somebody has been thrown out in the league’s short history. Certainly, not a record Reese wanted to hold when agreeing to be a part of it.
“Well there’s a first,” the play-by-play announcer said. “Our first Unrivaled ejection.”
TNT microphones were not able to pick up too much more of the conversation between Reese, officials, or anyone else involved in the situation.

Rose was finding a ton of success in the game as well. They were nearly to the halftime break, leading by eight points when the two technical fouls were called.
Reese left the game after just seven minutes of playing time, getting six points on 2-7 shooting and 15 rebounds. Ten of those boards were on the defensive end as Reese did secure a few offensive rebounds for her team.
Friday is the next time Reese will have the opportunity get back on the court. Rose will play against Mist, with tip-off scheduled for 8:15 p.m. ET. As usual, TNT will have the broadcast.
The regular season will run through the early portion of March, with two semifinals taking place on March 16. One day later will be the Finals but getting there will be an uphill climb for Rose. Entering Saturday, they have a 1-4 record and are down there in the standings.
A win might be required against Laces and not having Reese will be a massive disadvantage for them.
