Angel Reese gives autographed shoes to young fan with epic sign
Angel Reese made her presence known at the 2024 WNBA All-Star game, helping lead team WNBA to a 117-109 victory over the Team USA off the bench.
In what has become a regular occurance for Reese during her rookie campaign, the Chicago Sky frontcourt star logged a 12-point, 11-rebound double-double during just 18 minutes on the court.
After the game, Reese spotted a young fan in the stands with a unique sign. The fan drew angel wings surounding her favorite WNBA player’s name on the sign, which had Reese’s cups aong the boarder. It read ‘Angel, I’ll trade you all of these for your shoes.’
Upon seeing her fan, Reese slipped off her All-Star Game-worn shoes and handed them right to her. Although, Reese asked for them back for just a second, going the extra mile to sign her autograph on the her Reebok sneakers, a now priceless collectable.
Reese reportedly let the fan keep the candy.
While Reese didn’t take any of the sweets, she did get to enjoy the sweet feeling of victory over the 2024 Women’s Olympic team. Being front and center for the win, Reese said that she hopes this is one of many All-Star appearances and was excited to test herself against the team that will represent the United States in Paris this summer.
“One day I want to be a Team USA member,” Reese told ESPN’s Holly Rowe on the court postgame. “One day I want to be with that team, so it was an honor for me to come out and play. Coming off the bench, I just wanted to bring as much energy as I could.”

Ultimately coming away with the victory, it didn’t surprise Reese to see her WNBA All-Star squad take down Team USA. To her, the main goal of this exhibition was the get the Olympians ready for Paris, and they more than gave Team USA their money’s worth.
“I’m so excited for this league,” Reese continued. “It’s super competitive and being able to be a rookie out here [at the All-Star game] — and I hope there are many more times I’m out here. This crowd came out tonight to support so many different people. I’m happy.”
Reese is now allowed to enjoy some “me time” throughout the next couple of weeks as the WNBA goes on a hiatus during the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris as the association’s top stars look to bring home gold.
For Reese, it’s her first break from basketball since before her final season at LSU. Like all rookies, she had just over a month separating her last college game and first WNBA game. After becoming the first rookie to log a double-double in All-Star game history, she has certainly earned a couple weeks off.
