The ‘Caitlin Clark Effect’ lives on and permeates from the college level to the WNBA as the basketball superstar has continued to make an unprecedented impact off the court in her storied career.

Clark’s first WNBA game on Monday was a road matchup for the Indiana Fever as they took on Connecticut Sun. Representing the first sell-out crowd at Mohegan Sun Arena since the Connecticut franchise’s inaugural debut in 2003. And ahead of her games against the Atlanta Dream this season, the Dream have announced that their games versus Clark’s Fever squad have been moved to State Farm Arena. Home of the Atlanta Hawks.

The Fever visit the Dream on June 21 and August 26, two games that have already been sold out.

But the Dream will now move those games from Gateway Center Arena to State Farm Arena. Increasing their capacity and seating from 3,500 seats to 17,000 seats ahead of Clark’s highly anticipated appearances in ATL.

At the college level, Clark helped draw record audiences both in person and on television during her remarkable career at Iowa. Regularly selling out both home and away games and playing a massive role in women’s college basketball setting numerous viewership records. Highlighted by the Hawkeye’s Elite Eight matchup posting 12.3 million viewers, only to be surpassed by their Final Four game reaching 14.2 million viewers, and the national championship setting a new bar with an audience of 18.7 million people. Which also represents the most-watched basketball game across all levels since 2019.

Clark has had a similar impact on the WNBA very early into her professional career, and even before. With the Fever’s season ticket prices doubling following Clark’s WNBA Draft declaration in March and her jersey becoming Fanatics’ top-selling draft pick jersey in any draft night history after her selection.

36 of the Indiana Fever’s 40 games are also scheduled to be televised or streamed nationally this season, with Clark’s debut against the Sun averaging 2.12 million viewers to become the most-watched WNBA game since 2001.

In her debut, Clark scored 20 points, three assists, and two steals as the Fever suffered a 92-71 loss to the Sun. And as college basketball’s all-time leading scorer continues to adapt to the professional level and looks to lead her new team, she’ll continue bringing in the big-time crowds she became accustomed to drawing during her unprecedented college career. Serving as the main catalyst in the rapid growth of women’s sports.
