Top 2025 recruit Aubrey Shaw commits to Harvard
Aubrey Shaw, a top 2025 guard from Overland Park (Kansas) Blue Valley Northwest, has committed to Harvard, she told On3.
“I ended up choosing Harvard University,” Shaw told On3. “I think I’m getting the best of both worlds. Coach Carrie [Moore], she seems like she’s very invested in not only us on the court, but our education off the court as well. I think I can do a lot more, because I want to be known as more than a basketball player. I feel like I can grow a lot out there and make a very, very big impact — and I think that I’m the missing piece there.”
Shaw chose Harvard over Mississippi State, Duke, Arkansas, Columbia, TCU, Kansas, Missouri, UNC, Arizona, Kansas State, Kentucky, NC State and Oklahoma.
Education played a large role in Shaw’s decision, as well as her aspirations to be an actress.
“I think the education part was very big for me,” Shaw said. “My parents never pushed a school on me, and they asked me what was very important for me and what I wanted in a school, and thought to myself, I want to make a big impact. I want to get a great education, and I want my network after college to be there. The things that I want to do after college, I want to be representing brands and in front of the camera, but my dream is to be in movies as well. I want to do a lot…I think Harvard will help me expand that, and then with the networks that I have, I’ll be able to do a lot more.”

The play style at Harvard, as well as her relationships with the coaching staff, added up to make the Crimson the perfect spot for Shaw.
“As a big guard, I think that I can contribute a lot,” Shaw said. “I think playing multiple positions, but bringing my shooting ability, my rebounding ability, and my athleticism — I think I can do a lot on both ends. I really do feel like that I can bring the team to what they’re hoping for — a conference title and then making it to the NCAA Tournament.”
