Caitlin Clark hilariously plays coy after being recognized at coffee shop with Lexie Hull
As one of the most recognizable figures in sports, it’s tough for Caitlin Clark to stay incognito while making a coffee run. But that doesn’t mean she won’t have some fun when people realize who she is.
Clark, while on a coffee run with Indiana Fever teammate Lexie Hull, played coy when the worker spotted her in the passenger seat. The two were enjoying a day together in the offseason after a playoff exit, trying out different fruit drinks.
When the worked asked if she was Caitlin Clark, the Fever star smiled. She responded “maybe” in an exchange captured on Hull’s Tik Tok page.
Clark is coming off a historic first season in the WNBA, coming one vote short of unanimous Rookie of the Year honors. She averaged 19.2 points, 5.7 rebounds and 8.4 rebounds to go with 1.3 steals on defense as she helped the Fever to a playoff appearance. She also became the first rookie to ever record a triple-double, and did so a second time to boot.
Indiana fell to the Connecticut Sun in the first round of the playoffs, meaning Clark’s rookie year is over. But she understands the best is yet to come.
“The fun part is I feel like I’m just scratching the surface, and I’m one that’s nitpicking every single thing I do,” Clark said after the Game 2 loss to Connecticut, via ESPN’s Andrea Adelson. “I know I want to help this franchise get even better, help my teammates get even better, and I know there’s a lot of room for me to continue to improve.

“So that’s what excites me the most. I feel like I could continue to get a lot better, and before we know it, I’m sure we’ll all be back here and ready for the next year.”
As she goes through the offseason, though, Clark is also going to enjoy herself. She’s also going to pursue another passion – golf. After joking she’d become a professional golfer, the LPGA announced Clark would participate in a November Pro-Am through her partnership with Gainbridge. She’ll compete with Annika Sorenstam on Nov. 13 at Pelican Golf Club in Florida.
“I love golf so the opportunity to play in the Pro-Am for a tournament with a legend like Annika Sorenstam’s name on it is so exciting,” Clark said. “Gainbridge is a leader in supporting women’s sports and that’s clear through their commitment to me, this event, Billie Jean King and Parity Week.
“I’m looking forward to seeing all the LPGA players on the driving range, being part of the Women’s Leadership Summit and, of course, teeing it up in the Pro-Am with Annika.”
