The Chicago Sky erased a 15-point second-half deficit on Sunday to defeat the Indiana Fever 88-87 in a thrilling game in front of a nearly sold-out crowd at Wintrust Arena. As Chicago picked up their sixth win of the season and their first against the Fever after facing off against them for the third time this month.

Rookies Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso both had double-double performances in the matchup in one of the Sky’s most exciting games of the season. But after the game somebody else stole the show.

Grammy award-winning rapper and Chicago native Lil Durk made an appearance in the Sky locker room after the big win to congratulate the team. A moment that head coach Teresa Weatherspoon was clearly excited about which can be seen below.

Weatherspoon spoke on how she wants Lil Durk to get integrated into the fold with the team, revealing that the Chicago rapper’s mother was actually the one who coordinated his post-game locker room appearance. With Lil Durk telling the Sky team that he would be at more games to support the squad in the future, even referencing some trash-talking that was going on during the game.

Lil Durk could probably trash talk with the best of them while court side at games, nominated for four Grammy Awards in his career and winning his first Grammy award earlier this year in February. Winning best melodic rap performance for the song ‘All My Life’ featuring J Cole, which was the lead single from his eighth studio album ‘Almost Healed’.

But he wasn’t the only celebrity to make an appearance at the Chicago Sky game on Sunday or even pop up in the locker room. With WNBA legend and four-time champion Sheryl Swoopes also in attendance, giving some words of wisdom to the team after the game in the locker room.

New York Knicks star Jalen Brunson, Change the Rapper, Jason Sudeikis, Russ, and Tremaine Edmunds were also in attendance for Sunday’s matchup that featured arguably the two most talked about rookies in WNBA history. As Reese and Caitlin Clark squared off once again in a showdown that dates back to their college days competing against each other in the NCAA Tournament.

Clark had a career-high 13 assists to go along with 17 points, six rebounds, and four steals. But Reese headlined the matchup when it was all said and done with a career-high 25 points and 16 rebounds. Becoming the first rookie since A’ja Wilson in 2018 to score 25+ points and 15+ rebounds in a game, also extending her double-double streak to eight games which ranks No. 1 amongst rookies and No. 4 amongst all players in WNBA history.

Fans and celebrities alike will have to wait quite some time for the next Clark versus Reese matchup, which will take place on August 30 when the Fever and the Sky meet once again in Chicago.
