The Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever are squaring off once again in yet another exciting matchup where names like Caitlin Clark, Aliyah Boston, Kamilla Cardoso, and Angel Reese are sharing the court at the WNBA level following several intense matchups in their college days.

After a closely contested, back-and-forth first half the Fever started to catch their rhythm in the third quarter with a 24-3 run. But the Sky responded and closed out the third strong, closing the gap and narrowing the lead as Chicago entered halftime down just 72-64 to Indiana.

Reese spoke with ESPN’s Holly Rowe heading into the fourth quarter, speaking on what she and the Sky did to turn the tide and how they can continue to gain momentum to close out the game strong.

“Defense to offense, we gotta get stops, and defense is something I love to do and I’m willing to do that,” Reese said. “Put my body on the ground, block shots, play the next defender. So playing defense to get back in this game and then we’ll start this game.”

Reese ended the third quarter with 15 points and 11 rebounds, recording her eighth straight double-double to extend the longest streak for a rookie in WNBA history and the fourth-longest streak in league history. Also scoring on an acrobatic and-1 layup to help add to the Sky’s momentum and send a surge through Wintrust Arena.

“I work on that a lot in practice,” Reese said about her play. “I watch film, how I finish around the basket, and I’ve been struggling with it but now I’m perfecting it. So just doing whatever it takes.”
