LSU forward Aneesah Morrow has been selected in the 2025 WNBA Draft by the Connecticut Sun with the No. 7 overall pick in the draft. Her selection caps a thoroughly successful college career.

Morrow, a 6-foot-1 forward, spent her last two seasons in college with LSU. She originally started her career at DePaul but transferred after he first two seasons.

She was elite for LSU, though. And she did it playing on a squad full of stars.

Aneesah Morrow averaged a double-double in every single season she played in college, a remarkable feat. During her senior season with the Tigers, Morrow averaged 18.7 points and 13.5 rebounds per game.

Simply monster production. And Morrow also put together the best shooting numbers of her career — at least from the perimeter — during her final campaign.

Morrow shot the 3-pointer at a 28.9% clip this season, though she did it on the lowest volume of her career (38 attempts). If she can keep those percentages or raise them a bit, while upping the number of shots, she could be a complete, all-around threat at the WNBA level.

In any case, Aneesah Morrow proved she was worthy of being a high draft pick in the WNBA. And that was reflected on Monday night.

The best part about Morrow’s game might just be her penchant for playing her best on the big stage. During the NCAA Tournament this year, Morrow averaged 20.8 points and 12.3 rebounds per game.

She scored 30 points and hauled in 19 boards in a win over NC State in the Sweet 16, powering the Tigers to an 80-73 win. That followed a handful of outstanding individual performances prior to the Big Dance.

Aneesah Morrow scored 36 points and pulled down 14 boards in a win over Florida in the SEC Tournament. She also had a 23-point, 21-rebound performance in a win over a ranked Tennessee squad in early January.

Bottom line: Aneesah Morrow can play. And now she’ll get to showcase her skills at the professional level.
