Day 4 SEC Softball Tournament results, updated bracket
It was a jam-packed day of action at the SEC Softball Tournament on Friday, with a trio of quarterfinals added to the start of the day after inclement weather on Thursday. And there was plenty of close-fought action as the field was winnowed down to a pair of finalists.
To start the day, Missouri bested Arkansas in what was the second quarterfinal, completing a game that had begun on Thursday. The Tigers eventually moved into the semifinals later on Friday with a 3-1 win powered by Cierra Harrison getting the win in the circle with a one-run effort to get the win. Maddie Gallagher and Jenna Laird each tacked on RBIs.
Florida powered by Georgia in the second game of the day, winning the rivalry quarterfinal by a 9-4 margin, the biggest win of the day for any team. The Gators showed some of the offensive prowess that has fueled them all season, bashing a trio of home runs that accounted for seven RBI.
And to round out the quarterfinal slate, Texas A&M waited until the bottom of the 7th inning when Koko Wooley pulled off some magic, blasting a two-run double to give the Aggies a 3-2 win. And the walkoff against South Carolina for Texas A&M portended things to come as the semifinals go underway.
In the first semifinal, LSU faced Missouri in the second game of the day for the latter team. Both squads managed to plate just a run in the regulation seven innings as the starting pitchers dueled deep into the game. But it was Gallagher coming up clutch for Missouri. She hit a solo shot to give her squad a 1-0 lead before drilling a walk-off sacrifice fly in the 8th inning to send her team to the championship game.

Then it was Texas A&M and Florida in the nightcap, both teams playing a second game of the day for a shot at the league title on Saturday against Missouri.
The Gators kept turning the batter’s box into a launching pad, pushing out to a 5-0 lead on a pair of home runs. But the Aggies clawed back a trio of runs in the subsequent innings before the Gators added a pair of runs in the top of the 6th inning. From there, starting pitcher Keagan Rothrock finished off the night, putting the Texas A&M batters down in order to end the game and send Florida to the title game.
