Elite 2026 recruit Maddyn Greenway commits to Kentucky
Elite 2026 recruit Maddyn Greenway has committed to Kentucky, she told On3. Greenway chose the Wildcats over Iowa, Stanford, UCLA, Clemson and Duke.
“When I went to Kentucky, I knew I loved the coaches and the play style. Then I went, and just the girls, the team and all the support that they have – obviously being such a great basketball school – after the first day, I was like, ‘I want to go here.’ I slept on it and I woke up and it was even stronger.”
Her relationship with head coach Kenny Brooks was crucial in her decision.
“Obviously he is just such a point guard coach,” Greenway told On3. “Seeing him coach Georgia [Amoore] and everything she’s allowed to do in the offense, I kind of see a lot of myself in her. Obviously, she’s just a phenomenal player. But the way that he lets her run the offense in transition and play creatively and do all the things that she’s really good at, he fully supports her and gets her to be the best point guard that she can be. I really trusted him when he said that he could take me to that level.”
The energy and growth mindset surrounding the program are what excites Greenway most about getting to be a Wildcat.

“The energy that they’re growing around the program,” Greenway said. “They haven’t been the best program in the past two years, but the girls that he is getting and the girls that are on the team that will be there when I’m there are great. The girls and the people and the staff and the program as a whole are really huge for me. Having met them in person, it just makes me so excited to go there and being able to have this year and a half to develop myself, to get ready to go there, and just knowing that I’ll have the full support.”
Kentucky is getting a versatile point guard in Greenway.
“In high school, I’m very much scoring at all three levels and playmaking,” Greenway told On3. “I’m undersized, so I utilize my speed a lot and play at a fast pace. I thrive in transition. When I play at EYBL, I play more of a true point guard role and passing first.”
