Highly-recruited 2025 prospect Ky'She Lunan commits to NC State
Highly recruited 2025 point guard Ky’She Lunan has committed to NC State, she announced. Lunan chose the Wolfpack over several programs including Arizona, Colorado, Texas Tech, Tennessee, West Virginia, Syracuse and Virginia Tech.
“I’ve loved watching NC State ever since I started watching NCAA basketball,” Lunan told On3 in a previous interview. “I just love the way they play. I feel like they really resemble the way I play. The coaching staff also said that my game relates to them. I’ve been waiting for their offer – this is the second year. I played last year, but that was when I got hurt, so we still kept in contact. I texted a coach and asked if they were going to watch and they said they’d watch me in July. I had a good viewing period in July and she hit me back and said they love my game and that I’ve gotten even better since last year…That was mainly the school I was waiting for to shut everything down.”
NC State felt like a home to Lunan.
“I felt home away from home,” Lunan told On3. “So it was just a real homey situation for me. I loved the coaching staff. They gave like an older sister or auntie vibe. They will get on you when they need to, but at the same time, they know how to love you and support you. They give you that tough love.”
Lunan loves NC State’s emphasis on guard play and sees herself fitting into their play style.
“When I first had watched them, I saw that they were profoundly a guard school,” Lunan told On3. “They played through their guards. They love their guards. They set their guards up to be the best. When I actually went to their practice and saw how they trained and worked out and played, they were playing fast. I feel like that’s kind of cliche, because all these schools want to say they play fast, but it’s different when you have the personnel of the guards that they have.”

Ky’She Lunan of Scottsdale (Arizona) Millennium High School describes herself as a versatile player who can make an impact on both sides of the court.
“I’d describe myself as very versatile,” Lunan said. “I can defend. I work hard on both ends of the court. I can score on all three levels and I’m a great teammate. I’m unorthodox, so I don’t do normal. I play off reflex, which can be a good or bad thing. I’m focusing on getting into a rhythm… and on consistency.”
