Top 2025 recruit Holland Harris commits to Clemson
Top 2025 recruit Holland Harris of Montverde (Florida) Academy has committed to Clemson, she announced on Friday afternoon.
“As I have always said, having a relationship with the head coach is the most important thing for me,” Harris told On3. “My relationship with Coach [Shawn] Poppie is great and I believe in his vision for Clemson women’s basketball. Clemson is a perfect fit for my game. I’m looking forward to doing my part to make Clemson a powerhouse. Welcome to the Poppie era.”
The 6-foot-1 wing from Orlando, Florida chose the Tigers over Miami, Florida, Stanford and Alabama. She took official visits to both Alabama and Clemson, but canceled the remainder of her visits after returning from Clemson.
“I’ve always had a really good connection with coach [Shawn] Poppie, but I’ve always wanted to go Power 5,” Harris told On3 in a previous interview. “When I saw that he went to Clemson, he continued to reach out.”
The Tigers were a new addition to her list of finalists, following Poppie’s hiring as head coach. Clemson was not originally on her radar.

“A good relationship with my head coach is really important,” Harris told On3. “I want a program where I can make an immediate impact on the court and a program that’s going to continue to develop me into an elite player.”
Harris is a proficient rebounder who can defend multiple positions and is increasing her versatility on the court. She can attack the basket and has a strong defensive presence. Harris is the first 2025 commit for new head coach Shawn Poppie and the Tigers.
“I’m versatile,” Harris said. “I’m an all-around player – on defense and being able to score from all three levels.”
