The Indian Fever saw both of their former No. 1 overall picks leave their Sunday matchup against the New York Liberty. With Fever beat reporter Scott Agness reporting that Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston have both headed to the locker room with respective injuries.

According to Agness, Clark left the game with an ear injury and Boston with an injury to her left ankle. As Sunday’s game represents the second of a back-to-back with the Fever and their 11th game in 20 days.

With 6:29 remaining in the game Clark subbed out and was seen having an athletic trainer on the bench evaluating her ear before heading to the locker room for good in Barclay’s Center. Which was quickly followed by Boston getting tied up with New York forward Leonie Fiebich and falling awkwardly when the Fever were down 90-60. Exiting the game with an apparent lower-body injury after getting her legs twisted up with Fiebich at the 5:33 mark of the fourth quarter.

Following the game Fever head coach Christie Sides said that both Clark and Boston are still being evaluated and had no injury update on either of her players just yet.

Sunday’s game was the worst performance of Clark’s young career as a pro, finishing the matchup with just three points after making one of her 10 shot attempts. With Boston also posting a disappointing performance with just five points on the night before exiting the game. As the Fever fell 104-68 to the Liberty to drop their record to 2-9 on the season.

Caitlin Clark greets young fans ahead of matchup in New York

Caitlin Clark never fails to make time for her fans, especially the young kids who look up to her and travel in masses to watch her play. That was on display Sunday evening as the Indiana Fever arrived in New York for a matchup against the Liberty.

As Clark went through her pregame warmups, she took a moment to step off to the side where a number of young fans looked on with excitement. She not only gave them a few high fives, but also posed for a picture with the entire group. You can view the moment below.

The No. 1 pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, Clark garnered her fan base while breaking records in college at Iowa. Some of the kids in attendance at Sunday’s game were even wearing her Hawkeyes jersey. The impact she has had on growing women’s basketball is unmatched, and she’ll hope to continue doing so in the pros.

Moments like the one in New York of the perfect example of just that.
