Indianapolis will be the host of the 2025 WNBA All-Star game, according to ESPN.

The home of Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever, 2025 will mark the first time the city will host the event in the WNBA’s history.

This continues a wave of basketball momentum of city, who just hosted the 2024 NBA All-Star Game, and will host the 2026 Men’s Final Four and 2028 Women’s Final Four.

Not only has Indianapolis’ bustling basketball community exploded in recent years, Clark’s popularity likely played a massive role in the WNBA deciding to host their next All-Star Game there. After all, the Fever leads the association in average attendance per game and is up 265% from 2023.

The 2024 WNBA All-Star game was held in Phoenix, and saw Team WNBA — featuring Clark and fellow rookie Angel Reese — defeat the gold medal-winning Team USA group 117-109 before they packed their bags for the Games in Paris.

When asked about beating Team USA, though, Clark reflected on the trip to Phoenix as a whole. She said it was what she dreamed about growing up. She didn’t know at the time that her

“It was fun,” Clark told WHO-13. “Honestly, that whole all-star experience. Obviously it was my first time, so I didn’t really know what to expect. “It was kind of just like going out there and playing pickup as a young kid. We didn’t have any plays. We didn’t have a scouting report. You’re just going out there and having fun and playing basketball like you know how to, and I think that’s honestly the reason we won.”

Clark only had four points, but she dished out 10 assists – just two shy of Sue Bird’s All-Star Game record. It was quite the night for the WNBA all-stars as they got the better of Team USA.

While Clark is expected to participate in the All-Star festivities one way or another, the former Iowa Hawkeyes star has the rest of her rookie season to worry about before then.

The Fever, currently 11-15 and in seventh place in the WNBA standings, will resume play on Friday, Aug. 16 against Brittney Griner and the Phoenix Mercurey with less than five weeks remaining in the regular season.
