Multiple shoves lead to scrum in LSU vs Kentucky, multiple intentional fouls assessed

A Top-15 matchup between No. 7 LSU and No. 13 Kentucky saw things get chippy in the first quarter.
Towards the end of the opening quarter from Lexington, Last-Tear Poa for the Tigers and Saniah Tyler for the Wildcats were called on a jump ball before Clara Strack for UK and Aneesah Morrow for the Bengals got involved. That led to off-setting fouls on Strack and Morrow for their involvement in it.
There’s a lot to play for this afternoon in Historic Memorial Coliseum. LSU and Kentucky are third and fourth respectively in the standings coming into today for the SEC. Both are in position to keep those double-byes with two games next week ahead of the conference tournament. However, a win for the Wildcats would tie the two with records of 11-3 with Kentucky getting the tiebreaker from this head-to-head victory at home.
Kentucky has led from start to finish in the first half. They’d lead by a pair after that first but would win the second quarter by ten to extend the margin to as much as sixteen before taking a dozen-point lead into halftime at 38-26.
Georgia Amoore is leading that effort with 12 points, including a personal run of eight over the final three minutes, along with three assists and two steals. Dazia Lawrence and Amelia Hassett have also put up nine points apiece.
